2009 D.I.C.E. topmødet går ned i denne uge i det altid vidunderlige Las Vegas, og det er her, Epic Games annoncerede vinderne af fase 2 af Million Intel Make Something Real-konkurrencen. Måden det fungerer på er enkel: lav de bedste mods til Unreal Tournament III og få et væld af kontanter. I denne del af konkurrencen er .000 i præmier blevet belønnet til mod-skabere, der placerer sig i kategorierne.
Disse mods vil blive vist frem i næste måned på 2009 Game Developers Conference. Og det er en stor ting, hvis du tænker over det, da folk, der laver disse mods, ofte bliver forfremmet til at lave spil.
Epics mod-konkurrence har givet fordele for både mod-forfattere og spilindustrien, sagde Mark Rein, vicepræsident for Epic Games, Inc. Tidligere vindere har sendt kommercielle spil ved hjælp af Unreal Engine og adskillige tidligere medlemmer af Unreal-moden. samfund har fundet job enten hos Epic eller hos virksomheder, der har licens til Unreal Engine.
